Re: [Savage Worlds] Ravenloft
Sorry for the thread necro, but it's been nearly a year since the three expansion books went up on the site and I'm really interested in knowing if there's been any progress made on the other books? I've been a fan of Ravenloft for a very long time. I always thought it was a bad match for D&D, but ...

Well, currently these are the adventures I want to do, in about the order I want to do them in. I may add some adventures of my own creation, but for the most part we'll be sticking to published adventures. I'm running the game using Savage Worlds, so level ranges don't matter.

I need a hook
OK, I recently started a campaign that will mostly be made up of published adventures. The problem is that, since all the adventures have completely unrelated story lines, I can't figure out how to get the heroes from one adventure to the next.
I kicked off the campaign by saying that the ...

Re: New DM Seeking Advice
1) What system should I use?
Savage Worlds is a pretty good fit with Ravenloft. I've been using it for my campaign and it's working out really well. The heroes still feel like Heroes, but it's not completely over the top like in D&D. Savage Worlds is great for low magic settings where the combat ...

Port-a-Lucine map?
Is there a more detailed map of Port-a-Lucine out there somewhere? I have the one from the Black Box, but I was hoping to find one that showed the location of a few more landmarks. I couldn't find on in Gazetteer 3, There isn't one on the Mordent Cartographical Society web site, and I can't remember ...

I've run NotWD a couple times. I noticed that the undead element of the story is introduced way too early. Once the party found the zombie in the coffin all they wanted to do was go straight to the graveyard and "cleanse it". You might want to leave out the undead parts until much later on in the ...

If it has to be D&D then Pathfinder is definitely the best option. I'm not a big fan of D&D though, and I never thought it was the right system for Ravenloft. D&D is for epic, high fantasy settings saturated with magic and really big fights. Ravenloft is NOT that kind of setting. Ravenloft is more ...

Hour of the knife modifications
This post contains spoilers for Hour of the Knife.
I really like the idea of a Ravenloft adventure inspired by Jack the Ripper, but I have some problems with Hour of the Knife. There doesn't seem to be any gradual progression of clues that allow the players to figure out who the bad guys are. Each ...

I always thought the whole "sailing into the west" thing was a metaphor for crossing over into the afterlife, like how the ancient egyptians thought people crossed into the afterlife by sailing on wooden barges. So elves still "sail away" in Ravenloft, it's just that no one knows where they "sail ...
