Paranormal Activity

Post by DilisnyaRevenge »

Just saw Paranormal Activity last night... Very creepy little flick. I would describe it as Ghost Hunters meets Blair Witch. Very subtle in its creep factor at parts. Especially the "what happens in your house while you sleep" kind of stuff.

If there was a drawback, I would say that the trailers give away too many of the good "scares"... I hate walking out of a film feeling like I had seen most of the best parts already. Consequently, I won't list any of my particular favorite parts other than to say it was worth watching IMHO.

Anyone else seen it?

I saw this a few weeks ago. I thought it was OK, but that the ending was completely lame. Like DilisnyaRevenge said, the trailer gives way too much of it away.

IMO best part was :: Spoiler alert below ::

when Mika (or whatever his name was) puts the baby powder on the floor and the demon walks through it, leaving the footprints. Completely funny, became an instant inside joke.

I consider myself psychologically prepared to watch any scary movie or somewhat inured to most horror techniques (or maybe I never watched a quality flick capable of horrofying me after my infancy). But I gotta say, that movie made me scared when I finished watching and walked the house to grab a bite and go to sleep afetwards (and the day after also). Not that that was a problem. Actually, it's a compliment.

Overall, it's a solid scary movie and I recommend it to every horror fan. The acting and script are ok and the directing delivers.
