Resurrecting this Thread

Post by Teravala »

Is there enough of the Fraternity left where we could revive this for Halloween? I've spent some time poking around in the forums here and it seems like it was such a cool concept, I was sad to see that the tradition kind of died out.

This is something we did once, at Halloween 2005 (20 years ago!): a pbp of 24 hours, opened to all.

The story was a gala at the FoS in our Richemulot manor, where all the FoS of the area were presents, as well as guests from farther.

But during his speech, van Rijn admitted he betrayed the FoS, by trying to become a lich (necromancy is the anathema to the FoS), while hordes of undead attacked the guests! van Rijn used the chaos to try to destroy the FoS as he knew they would not take his betrayal kindly.

Our manor in Dementlieu was destroyed, and what remained of our faction of the FoS moved to Souragne, safely away, in order to plan our next moves.

This search for the traitor has lead us to search the world.

---

We used this in-game story to announce the start of our first Gaz project, Souragne, released the following year. And then continue our exploration of the world (aka finishing the 3e Gazetteers of the domains) while adding new pieces to the search for the traitor story.

The pbp was great fun (and a bit chaotic for the mods :) ) But as of now, we do not have plans to redo this.

I thought that was the Ste. Ronges Cell of the Fraternity of Shadows with the Manoir de Penombre being burnt to the ground.

Oh, I read the Sourange Gaz. It was great. What other articles do you have in that series?
And do you have any advice on writing a Gaz for my homebrew cluster?

The Souragne project was our first big project. You'll find the other FoS reports in the library - Nocturnal Sea, Zherisian Gazetteer, and the Sea of Sorrows report in various QtRs.

Have fun, stay interesting :) If you have more precise questions, start a domain design thread in the main board.

Yes, err, of course.

Just putting it out there: If you guys decide to do that, I'm on board, if you will have me.

Halloween, this year, on a Saturday. Halloween next year, on a Sunday: Probably doesn't get much better in terms of folks being available. :lucas:
