I wanted to post it in 'Year 780 Is Upon Us', but it's been months since the last post there and it felt overly long as it is.
Also, I feel like Paridon might deserve its own thread?
Like, Paridon is the most technologically-advanced canon domain. It's called CL 9, but we all know the true is it's CL 10.
You know what this means?
This means it's about to grow even more technologically advanced real fast. It's likely starting CL 11 by now. They have cars (at least of the super-early 'horseless carriages' type) going on.
Considering they're very science-oriented but also don't share the Lamordian flat-earth-atheist attitude to magic, they might have the right social conditions to develop some sort of magitek (as in, magic-based technology).
Points to consider:
1) What technological changes will happen in accordance with real-world ones, and which will go wildly different due to the presence of magic? (By more accessible magic rendering equivalent technology useless or vice verse, by the combination of magic and technology to create truly unique marvels, by magical problems creating need for technological solutions, and many more)
2) How do the dopplegangers respond to such changes? What new threats or opportunities do they see in the upcoming era?
3) A specific idea I had while doomscrolling TVTropes in the middle of the night and had to post about:
We know that The Bowels is the most closely linked borough to the Hive Queen's lair.
We know that by the time of the FoS' Zhestria Survey, the locals were keeping themselves safe by avoiding the ground-level as much as possible, building bridges on the rooftops to move from building to building without going out to the street.
What if, as architecture adapts to the circumstances, the buildings turn more and more interconnected until the neighborhood is gradually turned into a Hive City? As in, a settlement contained inside a single gigantic building? But also, like, hive... They've turned into what they've sworn to destroy, I guess... (I really need to go to sleep right now...)
