Alain looks more and more troubled by the bridge.
Although...He thinks to himselfJarryd and Tavian have a good idea.
He then halks towards the edge where the bridge meets the land and looks down and then looks back to the party.
"I think that if Jarryd or Tavian want to give the bridge a test, and we all hold the other end of the rope in case he falls, there really isn't much forseeable harm that could come of him if the bridge fails. I mean a few of us could easily compensate for the weight should he fall."
He then takes a moment to breath.
"And if the bridge should fail, we just hoist him back up and go over our options."

[So, will Tavian really challenge his luck?]

He smirks as he watches the rock bounce and fall, and his little test fail.
A clown without his makeup. Oh well...
He nods at Alain's thoughts.
"Agreed. Good idea."

While the other members of this group are debating, Nicolas stares absentmindedly at the bridge in question. He muses out loud: "hmm....an ocean that isn't there, a bridge only half real...what if that bridge leads to no-where? what if it is merely a distraction, to keep us from the real goal?"
Looking around guiltily, as though he didn't realize he had spoken those thoughts aloud, he says, "Oh, excuse me. Permit me not to cloud your discussion..."

Stocker turns to Nicolas and pauses a moment to digest the man's thoughts.
"Maybe, but who outside of us knows of our real goal? I mean, outside of helping Lodissio here," he thumbs the wrapped satyr with a brief glance "I don't even know what's going on. I just happened upon a rather lop-sided fight and thought that I could help, especially given the psychotic nature of the aggressors."
He cuts his next thoughts off before they leave his mouth.
"Just what are we up to here, anyway? And why would somebody go out of their way to sabotage us like this?"
Regardless of his questions, he walks towards the rope and picks it up, taking care to wrap it around his good right hand. Scuffing his boots into the ground he eventually digs himself in, ready to anchor whatever brave soul it is that will dare the weird bridge up ahead.

"Well, we're just going to a town called Staunton Bluffs to map it." Shana looks around, shivering
"I don't think this can be set up for us specifically. It might be a general trappy thing... but who would bother setting that up on a desolate sure like this? who would there be round here to trap? Test the bridge and lets move on: we'll freeze if we hesitate much longer"

"I'll do it," Tavian says to Alain, lifting his arms out to the side to allow someone to tie a rope around his waste, "I am not afraid."
Tavian looks out across the bridge with a steady gaze.
When someone begins to tie him he'll say, "Tie it like a harness, over my shoulders as well."

"Map a town?"
He looks almost confused.
"Hm."
Shaking the thoughts from his head, he looks to Tavian and grins his approval.
No fear...right on.
Once the little man seems content with his harness, Stocker nods, his thoughts almost echoing Shana's. "All right then, let's do this."
He takes a firm grip of the rope and leans his weight on his rear leg, ready for either a misstep or a fall.
"If the bridge seems secure enough once there is no slack in the rope, then the rest of us should follow Tavian's lead and inch our way across. That sound good to everyone?"
((Who's going to lug Lodissio? And, correct me if I'm wrong, but we don't have enough rope to allow Tavian to cross the entire bridge, do we?))

Once the harness is in place and Stocker is set, I will start to walk slowly across the bridge.

Avra mechanically follows the orders of his peers and jolds his end of the rope secure to allow one of the others to try crossing ther bridge. He takes a deep breath through his nose and braces himself. "Tavian, I am ready." Avra turns to the others while he stands and waits: "One of us could try to touch the water as well..."

"..well if you really want to.." Jarryd says, holding the rope now tied to Tavian. "Tell us everything you see, keep on talking so we know you are alright"
He looks down the bridge into the great sea. So this is how the see looks like, odd feeling though he thinks.

"You are right," Nicolas says to Stocker, "we cannot know for certain until we attempt to cross it. Anyways," he continues, his voice picking up, "this is not my travel, either. You yourself saw how I was simply deposited here, almost as though by accident. Yet, as long as I'm here, I will help those around me. Do not worry about carrying Lodissio. Once we have ascertained this bridge can hold us, I'm sure we will be able to spare arms to carry him."
He walks over to beside the cliffs, looking down at the foaming (?) waves. Addressing Jarryd, he says, "Have you never seen the sea? It is beautiful, even here..."

Before heading out too far, Tavian turns and tells his companions, "In case we lose sight of eachother, I'll give the rope three quick jerks then pause and give three more quick jerks if it's safe to come forward."
"We probably don't want to yell too much, in case the vibrations could effect the bridge," he says, "Besides, if we run into something unfriendly we don't want to let it know we're here."
With that, Tavian turns and continues to inch across the bridge.

Lost for a few seconds in the sight of the ocean before him, Jarryd answer Nicolas' question with nostalgy:"..wha..? Oh yes, this is the first time I've seen the sea..of water at least. Back home all we have are seas of sand and dust, as far as the eye can see"
Feeling the rope slipping through his fingers, he takes a look at Tavian walking on the bridge. "Here help me with this" he tells Nicolas, handing the rope that is tied to Tavian.
"Let's see if the bridge is safe to pass"

[Since the bridge goes on for kilometers, as far as you can see, and ends in a misty cloud, I strongly doubt it.]

[Avra smells... The scent of winter. But nothing unusual so far... He won't smell the salty sea, though. Strange, isn't it, so near to a shore...?]

[Does Nicholas over the shore into the dark water, or does he just check the coast line?]

Ouch! Jarryd right foot suddenly feels hot, like if he had stepped on a burning piece of coal... Yet the ground under his feet looks normal...
Shana and Stocker will feel the same, like something moving under their feet... [Shana: FEAR CHECK - decide if your character falls into mild, average or extreme panic...]
