View source for Chief Constable James Wortle

James Wortle led the [[City Guard (Paridon)|City Guard]] of [[Paridon]] as its [[Chief Constable (Paridon|Chief Constable)]] as the 14th murder cycle began in [[755 BC]]. He was the fifth chief constable in 13 years. Wortle was widely recognised to have done exemplary work in his brief time in office. But the [[City Council (Paridon)|City Council]] was looking for an excuse to replace him because of his  unwillingness to accept that the [[noble|aristocrats]] of Paridon were not answerable to the City Guard. As the murder cycle progressed Wortle nearly snapped under the pressure and was removed from office. [[Chief Constable Francine Maxwell|Inspector Francine Maxwell]] was then named Acting Chief Constable.
