Butchery is the work of the [[butcher]]. It differs fundamentally from [[dissection]] in its goal, the removal of the edible flesh from a dead [[body]] for cooking and eating. Curiously, the immensely skilled [[surgeon]] Dr. Frantisek Markov started out as a butcher. [[Hunter|Hunters]] and many [[cook|cooks]] are somewhat competent butchers. The work of [[chiurgeons]] on the [[operating table]] and of [[soldier|soldiers]] on the battlefield is sometimes said to be [[butchery]].
