"Shadowy creature" is the informal game given in [[Gazetteer V]] to a collection of [[monster]]s that are connected to shadow or darkness enough to receive a special boon while in [[the Shadow Rift]]. (They are listed on p. 105 of [[Gaz V]].) Such creatures encountered within the Rift have maximum hit points and heal much quicker than when normal.<ref>[[Gazetteer V]] p.105</ref>

Note that this informal name should not be confused with the [[Shadow Creature]] [[template]], which may certainly be used to make a creature Shadowy.
