The [[wereowl]]<ref>[[Terrors from Above]] p.88-89</ref> is a type of [[lycanthrope]] with an [[owl]] phenotype, often that of a [[great horned owl]], [[screech owl]], or [[barn owl]]] in temperate lands and a [[snowy owl]] in colder lands. Although [[afflicted lycanthrope|afflicted]] [[wereowl]]s have the same difficulties with feeding and bloodthirstiness as other lycanthropes do, the wereowl is not [[evil]] by nature much like another avian lycanthrope, the [[wereraven]]. [[Natural lycanthrope|Natural]] wereowls are among the most reclusive of lycanthropes, making an encounter with one a rare thing indeed.

Wereowls have an innate hatred for [[wererat]]s and usually try their best to destroy them when encountered.
