His wife was taken by [[disease]] and his son was [[murdered]] by a [[werewolf]]. That same werewolf also maimed Celia and infected her with [[lycanthropy]]. Claude nursed her back to ~~sleep~~, but she later escaped and [[transformed]] into a werewolf.
