	Jacks and Queens was an [[inn]] operated by the would-be reformed [[bandit]] [[Jack Sallow]] upon the [[cursed]] grounds of [[Ashington Manor]]. Under his ownership, the manor seemed to overcome its reputation as a place of damnation- although the inn he ran was known to be a place of vice. However, Sallow's redemption didn't take, as he conducted the secret murder and robbing of guests he believe he could get away with, including the runaway daughter of a rich [[merchant]]. The day ~~following~~ he deflected the suspicions of the girl's boyfriend, Sallow fell victim to the cyclical [[Ashington Curse]]. [[Maekon]] used her [[venom]] to drive Sallow and the others into homicidal furies and go after each other<ref>[[Dark Tales and Disturbing Legends]] p. 66-67</ref>.
