Along with [[Ogier]], Ambrose was a friend of [[Ganelon]] and also a fellow [[miner]] at the [[Veidrava Salt Mines]]. They frequently hung out at [[Ambrose's Shop|the shop of]] their friend [[Ambrose (of Sithicus)]].<ref name="Spectre of the Black Rose p. 45-50">Spectre of the Black Rose p.45-50</ref>.

Ogier and Kern were both lured into a trap by a [[salt shadow]] [[possessed]] Ambrose at the [[Black Chapel]]. There, salt shadows [[ambushed]] and [[possessed]] both Ogier and Kern<ref name="Spectre of the Black Rose p. 194-197">Spectre of the Black Rose p.194-197</ref>, effectively [[transforming]] them into the [[minion]]s of [[Azrael Dak]]. When Ganelon came to stop Azrael and his [[ritual]], Ambrose, Kern, and Ogier tussled with the intruding Ganelon.<ref name="Spectre of the Black Rose p. 288-296">Spectre of the Black Rose p.288-296</ref>.
