Madchen was the [[bastard]] child of the adulterous tryst between [[Katherine]] and [[Ione Demnach]]. As with his mother, Madchen was born for use as a weapon against his father by [[the Lady of the Lake]], Katherine's mother and Madchen's grandmother. The [[caliban]] with a visage resembling that of a [[fish]] bore inhuman strength and a violent disposition. Katherine and Madchen were sent by the Lady to bring ruin upon the Demnach household at [[Demnach Keep]]. Although Katherine was slain by the [[guard]]s, Madchen slew everybody but Ione (and ultimately mortally wounded him) before being slain by the paladin in turn.<ref>[[Gaz V]] p. 157-158</ref>
