	Siraaj al-Shahin is an ambitious [[wizard]] (under the [[Al-Qadim]] rules, he is a sorcerer of sand and wind) who was caught attempting to steal a scroll from the [[University of Phiraz]]. As punishment, his right hand was removed, and he was exiled from [[Phiraz]]. He was eventually allowed to stay in the village of [[Nizwar]] because his language skills made ~~his~~ useful as a translator.
