The gloves had somehow passed down through the centuries only to wind up in the hands of [[Sari Florica]], a resident of [[Orasnou]]. After Sari was [[murdered]], she arose as a [[ghost]]. Strangely, the gloves did not remain on her physical body but rather adhered to- and could not be removed from- Sari's spectral body.<ref>[[The Innocent]] p. 11</ref> [[Graxxygak]], another [[ghost]] and one of Esmae's servants known as [[the Obsessions]], abducted Sari in order to obtain the gloves.
