Called the [[The Amazing Soul-less Man]], Tindal believes an arcane accident ripped away his reflection and turned it into a [[Ravenloft Fetch]]. In reality, Tindal is actually (or was once) the mirror reflection (a more ideal reflection) of [[Tindafalus]], an unscrupulous wizard whom swapped places with after an experiment with a magic [[mirror]] went awry. Ironically, Tindal is a man of character and charm his "real" counterpart could never match.<ref name="Carnival p. 25-26, 52-53">[[Carnival]] p. 25-26, 52-53</ref>

			Tindal knows [[Silessa]] by way of Tindalafus' association of her old master, [[Sarlandril]]. Tindal has noted Silessa has shown an aversion toward him. Tindal attributes this to not helping free her from Sarlandril previously, but in reality it is because she has observed Tindal is not the same as Tindafalus.<ref>Carnival p. 16</ref>

			In [[745 BC]], Tindalafus attempted to switch his appearance with that of a much more [[handsome]] [[reflection]] of himself from one of his magic mirrors. The experiment failed and badly backfired, leaving Tindalafus [[trapped]] in the mirror world and his ideal reflection in the real world. Tindal later joined Carnival and successfully persuaded [[Isolde]] to travel to [[Sithicus]] and free Silessa.<ref>Carnival p. 16, 25-26, 51-52</ref>

			Tindal believes himself to be the real Tindafalus, having achieved a karmic rebirth of sorts after the accident. Because of "his" dark actions previously, Tindal has given up the practice of [[magic]].<ref>p. 25-26</ref>
