As the Falling River plunges some 500 ft. from the Greenlands into the Stowndowns, the waterfall ultimately ends in a lake called the Biting Tarn. The water is quite polluted with the minerals of the rocks around it. Two rivers leave the Biting Tarn. The Nightrush flows almost immediately into the northern part the Black Marsh, and the Grimfey Flow travels through the Stowndowns for a bit before entering the Marsh at the southern end.[1]
