Michael Wescote was born in Mordent in the first half of the prior century. His brother was Burton Wescote. The Wescotes resided in Wescote Manor, northeast of Mordentshire, a little east of Mill Road. In 643 BC, Michael was impaled by a knife and expired. Burton's bride-to-be was involved in the death. Shortly thereafter, she was chased into a bog by Burton's hounds. There she drowned, but not before cursing Burton to an eternity of suffering.
