Formerly "The Brotherhood of The Unseen Hand" as founded by Mad Lord Kalen, this Dementlieuse secret society has been renamed and revitalized by Isabelle D'Aprix into The Noble Brotherhood of Assassins. They are not actual assassins; the name is merely a tongue-in-check reference to the "assassinations" they commit of reputations of the corrupt and privileged. That is, the Brotherhood's targets are those who abuse the poor and the oppressed, and the Brotherhood's weapons are humiliation, embarrassment. Through pranks, intrigue, gossip, scandal, and rumor, they seek to demean and expose the exploiters of Dementlieuse society rather than physically injure them.^[1]

The Brotherhood is based in Chateaufaux. They tried to extend their reach to Port-a-Lucine, but they were chased out by Alanik Ray. The presence of the detective has confounded them because he is not worthy of their enmity, hence they have no way around him.^[2]
