The Night of Dark Deeds is the annual night when all five moons of Nova Vaasa are new. It is said to be the night of nights for lies, treachery, and murder. It is not, however, clear whether Nova Vaasa still has, or perhaps ever had, five moons. 
It has been suggested that "five moons" is a mistranslation from Vaasi into Mordentish with the correct rendering being "five celestial wanderers", which would be to say one moon and four planets.[1] The Night of Dark Deeds would then occur when the moon is new and none of the four planets is above the horizon.[1]
