An annis hag Dr. van Richten fought in Richemulot. Her journal is excerpted in Van Richten's Guide to Witches.[1]
Dr. van Richten's encounter with Balihnda was largely accidental; he ran into her through the manipulations of Natalia Vhorishkova. Although unprepared, van Richten and colleagues were lucky enough to win the day and seemingly dispatch the hag, though at the cost of the lives of several of his compatriots.[2]
Balihnda seemingly survived the 736 BC encounter with van Richten and has since began operations in the House of the Sages. She discovered the Sanctuary of the Forgotten Lady, where she poses as the temple's caretaker and researches the doctrine of Hala. Although she can treat visitors who don't follow Hala well, she will torture, murder, and even eat those who are of the faithful.[3]
