Abu Ratep is a minor NPC from the Touch of Death adventure module. Abu Ratep is a street urchin in Muhar. Though he is homeless and without friends or relatives, Abu has somehow nonetheless become literate.[1]
Abu Ratep should not be confused with the similarly named Abu al Mir.
Role in Touch of Death
Abu follows the player characters unbidden and hopes to become one of their apprentices or squires. To impress his sincerity upon them, he performs duties as a porter, other type of menial servant type work, or even translator of the modern Akiri script.[1] Over the course of the module, he may get kidnapped, killed, and reanimated as a mummy.[2]
