Julio, the Master Thief of Hazlan, was a skilled burglar who considered himself to be the best thief in that eastern land. Until the last day of his thieving career he had not taken a life, although this was more a matter of fear and probably guild policy than a choice of conscience. The end of his career came shortly after he managed to burgle Veneficus itself. Among the items that he stole were Hazlik's Lens, an experimental device that gradually stripped him of mundane existence and left him a purely ethereal being. Before wholly succumbing to this state, he murdered fellow thieves' guild member Cordova, a con man and forger. The thieves' guild correctly identified Julio as the murderer, but by that point he was beyond their reach. It is possible that he retained the ability to interact with the mundane world via telekinesis.
