Skeleton warriors are the skeletal remains of high level fighters and other elite professional killers reanimated by powerful spellcasters. A skeleton warrior is normally controlled by a special Skeleton Warrior Circlet worn by its creator. If the circlet is lost, the skeleton warrior tracks its master and murders him. Any character that dons the circlet can assume control of the corresponding skeleton warrior.[1]
Unlike their weaker kin, skeleton warriors retain their intelligence and mastery of weapons. They are physically tougher and stronger and are nearly impervious to magic.[1]
As undead, skeleton warriors may be encountered in Barovia[2][3], Darkon[4][5], Har'Akir[6][7], Mordent[8][9], Sanguinia[10], Sithicus[11], and Valachan[12][13]. They may also be encountered in Cavitius, though within that domain they have no control circlets, instead serving Vecna's will directly.[14] As a type of undead that does not feed, skeleton warriors may be encountered in Keening.[15][16].
