Gritz von Weerg is a character mentioned in the 5th Edition module Curse of Strahd. He was a inventor and toy maker hired by Duchess Dorfniya Dilisnya to create a clockwork effigy of her jester, Pidlwick. Fritz' madness seeped into the construct's creation, rendering it disturbing and not actually very good at its job as an entertainer for the Von Zarovich Family. Pidlwik II eventually murdered its human predecessor.[1]

In modern day Barovia, Gadof Blinsky, an admirer of von Weerg and a resident of Vallaki, seeks von Weerg's "clockwork man" that lives within Castle Ravenloft (that is, Pidlwik II)[2]

Although never addressed as such in the text, Fritz's madness may be interpreted to indicate he was a Dread Constructcrafter and Pidlwick II a dread construct.
