Matton Blanchard

Matton Blanchard is a Wolfwere and native of Kartakass. Despite being a magical beast, he is also a noble. Matton is Gabrielle Aderre's lover and resides with her at Castle Hunadora. He is also the possible father of Lucita Aderre (with the other being Ardonk Szerieza).

Despite both being ruthless killers, Matton and Gabrielle seem to have genuine feelings of love for each other. However, their relationship has been on rocky grounds for quite some time. Gabrielle has bedded with two other lovers, one with the Gentleman Caller and the other with Ardonk Szerieza. The former seemed to magically coerce Gabrielle to mate with him and (for a time) throw aside Matton. Matton seems to have recognized the Gentleman Caller's dread influence over Gabrielle Even after the the Gentlemen Caller was long gone, only concerned for Gabrielle's safety from the incubus and his son Malocchio Aderre. During the events surrounding the events of the Evil Eye, Matton's main concern was to repair his estranged relationship with Gabrielle, not achieve any sort of revenge against her. He is a rare sort of being in that his feelings for Aderre are genuine.

Gabrielle Aderre believes she will not be forgiven a second time. Her affair with Ardonk Szeriza was mostly for political purposes; she was under no demonic compulsion.

Matton enjoys hunting. He sometimes leads hunting parties from the back of a horse. Matton's favorite mount is named Storm.
