Bloodrose is a species of Dread Plant, cataloged by Professor Abelhous Nicholsi. . Like the lashweed and the crawling ivy, the bloodrose is sanguivorous, and it relies on blending in with its environment to catch unsuspecting foes. A whirling patch of bloodroses entraps its prey as per an entangle spell.[1]

The bloodrose has a strange aversion to salt, and salt water eats away at it.[1]

The bloodrose can be found in the following domains: Avonleigh[2],, Barovia[3], Dementlieu[4] Invidia[5], the Shadow Rift[6], Sithicus[7], and Valachan[8]. In Dominia, bloodroses may found on the grounds of the Clinic for the Mentally Distressed.[9]

Noncanon information

In Souragne, blood roses try to lure their prey in with rain water stored in their leaves.[10]

Descriptive Text

Some of the roses had an exquisite crimson veining in their bone-white blooms; pointing them out to my patroness, I asked if it had been very difficult to breed so exotic a type. Glancing out the window of the carriage, she smiled slightly and replied, in her enigmatical way, "It is not so very difficult. It is a matter of feeding, not breeding, my dear."[11]
