The Lightless Wood is the name for the swamps and forests located on the southeastern part of Mordent.[1] The terrain is damp and mushy, proceeding to become more so as the Wood gives to the Gray Heathlands[2] The fell within the domain of the Gauldamons.[3] It was consequently tainted by centuries of demonic rituals.[4] Hardwood trees grow toward the exterior, but the vegetation becomes denser and yet shorter until the area becomes enveloped in a low, virtually impassable cover of vines, bushes, and short trees. Here is the only native home for the wraithroot.[5]
