The detective prestige class is one for astute investigators. Among their class abilities, a member of this prestige class can examine the scene of a crime and determine the motive, race, gender, and and primary class of the criminal with a successful Search check. High enough level detectives can even deduce the alignment of a person they speak with for one hour and a correct Sense Motive check, even moral alignment should ethical alignment be guessed correctly fire.[1] This may present a problem for Ravenloft campaigns, as it is usually impossible to detect good-evil axis is impossible merely through use of game mechanics, even magic.
