Maran Rosa, or Marran Rosa, is a Rashemani resistance leader in the hamlet of Kubar, leading an inssurection movement against the harsh rule of Yanor Biret. He has become possessed by the Black Duke after he agreed to the Black Duke's help of revenge for the murder of his wife by Yanor's thugs. So under the Duke's influence, Marran had Yanor's son, Lothar Biret, kidnapped. The Black Duke thereafter murdered the boy and reanimated the boy as a zombie in secret, with the zombie appearing entirely alive.[1]
