A dread warrior is a corporeal undead created through necromancy from a fighter of at least fourth level. Dread warriors retain a dim level of intelligence as well as proficiency in weapon and armor. They are hardier and better at fighting than normal skeletons or zombies but have no special abilities. Dread warriors were created by the Red Wizards of Thay in Faerun.[1][2]
Encountering Dread Warriors in the Demiplane of Dread
Considering Hazlik's connection to Thay, it is concievable that dread warrior might be encountered in Hazlan. It is also possible that Nightblood, the lich that crafted the Living Crypt, may have created a number of dread warriors.
In the Shadow Rift, can be encountered in the Darkenheights as part of the saugh.[3] It is unknown how Prince Loht discovered knowledge on how to create dread warriors.
