The Crown of Arak is part of the Regalia of Arak[1][2]. It considerably increases the wearer's Charisma and allows the user to employ powerful charm enchantment magic[1][2]. The Crown also functions as a ring of mind shielding.[2]
As with the other Regalia, the Amulet of Arak is cursed when used by entities other than shadow fey[3]. The Crown bears all of the curses standard to the Regalia.
From the time of Arak the Erlking's destruction to approximately 751 BC, the Crown was possessed and worn by Queen Maeve[2]. In response to Prince Loht's seeming madness and gathering of all the Regalia, she hid it in the Pillar of Fire in the Malachite Palace[4]. It was found by mortal adventurers allied with Queen Maeve and thrown into the Obsidian Gate to prevent Gwydion's escape[5]. The Crown reportedly remains inside the Gate with Gwydion[2].
