Markov is a Vistani and brother of Madame Varisha. They and a Vistani clan composed primarily of their descendants settled for a time near Cerlimieu in Dementlieu. Their presence caused the doppelganger Rhelmus Orbthright to fear being discovered by their the Sight of the Vistani. He murdered Markov and assumed his guise to murder Varisha. Varisha levied a curse upon all of Markov's implicated family until the killer was dealt with[1].
