The Goteerans[1] were a people that resided in the March of Goteer, a region of lowlands between the Barony of the Western Highlands and Merion, two enemy lands. Bordering the homeland of the former invaders of the Kingdom of Firfair, the Goteerans were among the clans quickest to negotiate with the hated Merionites. This left lasting resentment with the people of the Western Highlands, and this resentment eventually brought the March and the Western Barony to war in year 1593 of the Forfarian Calendar (206 BC). The Barony of the Western Highlands called upon the Barony of Forfar for assistance, which dragged the latter barony into the war.
Rivalin ApTosh was one of the war heroes to lead the forces of the Barony of Forfar against the Goteerans. He killed their ruler, Earl DunDugan in 1594 FC 207 BC. The Goteerans were routed by a storm conjured by Forfarian druids that same year, though the storm also afflicted loss of life on both sides.
