Dr. Melrose Elliot Cameron is a quintessential scholar and scientist[1]. He also has demonstrated the skills of a medical doctor[2]. Valuing the pursuit of knowledge as humanity's most noble goal, Dr. Cameron has become convinced that a true immortal exists, and that this immortal may greatly benefit humanity if such an immortal were to share the accumulated knowledge accrued through many years of life. It is Dr. Cameron's ultimate goal is to locate or at least prove the existence of such an immortal[1]. To this end, he has attended the summons sent by Senor Hector Elissar Ramirez to Eldron Manor for the private estate auctioning of Sir Eowin Theone's curios and objects.

Dr. Cameron is the mentor of the young Darren Thurrow, whom in turn serves as Dr. Cameron's assistant and adds a more diplomatic and sensibly pragmatic perspective to balance out Dr. Cameron's stubborn and opinionated nature[3].
