Canon Information

A drider is an aberration that was once a drow who, through displeasing Lolth by failing a test. Driders are transformed and cursed with horrific drow/spider centauroid forms. Drider spellcasters retain their former abilities, even clerics and other priests of Lolth, whom never seems to have stopped granting them clerical abilities despite their seemingly falling out of power. A very rare few driders have become drider liches[1].

Several outlander driders have come to the attention of the Dark Powers and have thus been drawn into the Land of Mists. Considering their rarity, an unepectedly large proportion of driders in the Demiplane of Dread are drider liches[1].

Rarely, driders were once encountered in the now-vanished domain of Arak.[2] They can now be encountered in the Shadow Rift[3],
