The rotund, somewhat fearsome-looking Jean[1] is the former owner, operator, and cook for the Two-Hares Inn, which he named after the Tale of Two-Hares.[2] Jean enjoyed and took pride in his profession, claiming that his was not just the finest restaurant in Port d'Elhour, but in all of Souragne. He specialized in cooking rabbit sautéed in a wine sauce, served with stewed makshee and cushaw.[3]

Unfortunately, Jean choked on a bone and was consequently reanimated as a zombie by Anton Misroi to serve him as his personal chef.[4] Both the Darklord of Souragne and Larissa Snowmane noted that death and undeath had not taken away any of Jean's skill as a cook.
