Oudart Gilson was the second-in-command to Commander Pierre Willis of the Avergnite army during the war between Duchy of Avergne and the County of Staunton. However, he was also romantically involved with Ysolt Bleysmith, the daughter of Count Rupert Bleysmith of Staunton. He and Ysolt were unable to sway Willis from his invasion of Castle Stonecrest, but at least Oudart managed to save Ysolt's life.[1]
In the aftermath Ysolt married Oudart Gilson and started a family. They raised at least one child, Alardus Gilson, but likely had others as well, given that the blonde hair of "the Gilson line" still occurs among the population of Staunton Bluffs.[1]
