Erich Reinhold (NPC)

Erich Reinhold, also known as the Leper Baron, is a mature vrykolaka vampire that resides in the Bloodfang Hills in Barovia. In life, he was a compassionate and generous noble of Barovia, the exact opposite of his vile noble parents. This proved to be his downfall, for he took in a dying leper. Upon his parents discovering the leper, they chopped him to pieces. Companions of the leper kidnapped Erich as revenge, intending to feed him to an undead monster they thought was a ghoul. Later, Erich's parents found him unconscious, apparently the only survivor of an encounter with the monster that slew Erich's kidnappers. Because of Erich's infection with leprosy, his parents murdered him.

Following his death and burial, he arose as a vrykolaka vampire. Driven mad by his murder and transformation into undeath, Erich killed his parents. Since then, Erich has almost become a feral predator with little of his old personality intact, especially when he has not fed recently. Still, there are a few shards of his old personality buried somewhere beneath his corrupted undead state. He still feels a twisted need to champion the oppressed by viciously murdering their oppressors, and the sick and the young are always against his code for attacking.

Erich drinks a mix of humanoid, animal, and goblyn blood. He carries filth fever and leprosy.
