Hailing from the Moonsea region of Faerun near Phlan, Esselios is an unusually intelligent raven that can readily speak human language. He was once the familiar of a wizard, but his master was murdered by orcs. Esselios swore an oath to himself to prevent orcs from hurting any other people.[1] Although biased against orcs, Esselios has become knowledgeable about them. He is also highly knowledgeable about the Rookscrag environs.[2]
Esselios may, for a time, have been whisked away with some adventurers to Barovia.
