Heartrose

The heartrose is a magical type of rose plant that, when bonded as a seed to a character by being planted with said character's blood, becomes attuned to that person's life force. The health of the heartrose reflects that of the character, and the colors of its flowers reflect the alignment of the character. A spell targeting a heartrose plant affects its bonded character if the spell can affect animals or plants, and the spell is transformed to its nearest applicable equivalent to the character's creature type. Area of effect spells and the like that affect but don't specifically target the heartrose only affect the character if the spell can normally affect plants. Unbonded heartrose plants become mundane roses. Heartroses are native to the Shadow Rift.
