The Woodsmen serve Elena Faith-hold in the eastern part of Nidala by hunting down bandits and monsters.[1]

In particular, the Woodsmen do the scouting, spying, and shadow-work that the Guardians of Morals cannot do without tarnishing their reputation. The Guardians must uphold the decrees of Belenus, after all. The Woodsmen do not operate under the same constaints because officially they don't exist.[2]

The special training of the Woodsmen can be modelled as a 2nd Edition kit.[3]
