Mickael Niet is the son of Markov Niet. Markov was transformed by the progenitor upir lichy Blood Talon into one of his kind. Mickael killed Blood Talon using the sword Lichbane and later captured Markov, ultimately taking Markov out to die in the sun. However, Markov broke free and toppled Mickael over, threatening to use the sword to kill Mickael the same way he had killed Markov's master. Before Markov could act upon his threats, he was drawn into the Mists.[1]
