Raul Renier (born 707 BC) was a Wererat that married to Gertrude von Zarovich, not a wererat. He is the brother of Louise Renier and Jacqueline Renier, the son of Marie Renier and Simon Audaire, and the grandson of Claude Renier and Isabelle Museau[1]
Known as a "foppish coward", Raul is suspected by Louise to have poisoned Marie and framed the (hated by Raul) family cook for the murder by leaving a list of poison ingredients in the kitchen. The cook was subsequently slain despite the fact that she was actually illiterate. The Renier family ultimately attributed the murder to Jacqueline, and Jacqueline did nothing to correct their suspicions. Regardless of the truth to the matter, Raul soon thereafter left for Barovia[2],
