Treatments of madnessare attempts to cure or at least mitigate madness. Madmen in particular and those who are described generally as being mad are the natural subjects of such treatment. Exceptionally, these methods may be applied to other living creatures in the attempt to provoke madness, whether for the sake of research, as punishment, or by mistake. Treatments include, but are not limited to, medical procedures, hypnotism, and confinement.
