A poisoner is an amateur or an expert at administering, or even having administered, a substance, called a poison, that leaves its victim impaired, incapacitated, or even dead. A poisoner is not, then, necessarily a murderer, although administering a debiliating poison to someone with a weak constitution could accidently make one a murderer. Poisoners make use of poison to achieve one or more ends. They do not necessarily have to deliveer the poison themselves. For example Strahd von Zarovich, through the agency of Emil Bollenbach, is the poisoner of Lyssa von Zarovich who, in consequence, suffers a significant impairment.
