Coal mining is the mining of coal. Coal and by extension coal mining are consequential as coal is a source of fuel of growing importance, particular in respect to blast furnace produced steel and steam-powered milling and transportation. Coal may also be an important source of heating for the residents of certain cities.
Coal is profitably mined at the edge of Neufurchtenburg, where it feeds one of more blast furnaces and may also fuel paddlewheelers. Nosos is home to extremely profitable coal mines which export their coal through the Mists to other domains. Beinn Math Mathonwy ("Mount Mathonwy") was an important coal mining site before the Barony of Forfar was annexed by the Mists and became Forlorn.
