William Raynus was a well known cleric and exorcist, and he ended up marrying one of the Lockwood Family. He was called into exorcise what the family thought was a demon possessing a young child named Gertrude Lockwood. (It was actually Angelique Lockwood possessing the child.) Rayner's fame was greater than his will or ability, and Angelique made short work of him. He now haunts Getrude's room, radiating despair from his depressed state.[1]

William Raynus had a powerful Lawful Good mace of disruption. It currently lies in his crypt beneath Lockwood Manor.[2]
