Ton Ton Macoute (real name: Marcus Revieneaux) is a legendary figure in Haiti that kidnaps children and takes them away in his knapsack. He is a ghoul with several unique powers. He can pass without trace, and his knapsack acts like a bag of holding. He has a particular fondness for devouring the internal organs of children and these are his primary victims.[1]
A former slave, Ton Ton Macoute got his start with cannibalism as an act of revenge against the plantation owner who killed his parents. He kidnapped his daughter, killed her, and devoured her heart followed by her other internal organs. However, fulfilling this cannibalistic urge became a goal in and of itself, starting with Ton Ton Macoute's nephew. Since then, Ton Ton Macoute has become infamous for his horrible acts throughout Haiti.[1]
