Sean Mako

Sean Mako is a fisherman who lives on Carcharodon Isle. He has become an afflicted wereshark (specifically a megalodon) by way of a curse: the Lovers' Curse. He fell in love with Alice, a mermaid, whom he rescued and nursed back to health. The feeling was mutual. The townspeople of Mistlington thought their relationship unnatural and plotted to disrupt it. Several other fishermen beat Sean unconscious and kidnapped Alice. Taking her on their boat, they went out to sea and tossed her over the side. Sean regained consciousness, went after them, and slew all the kidnappers. Deperate, he realized what he'd done and called out “Give me fins and a tail so that I will never be separated from my love," before diving into the sea after her.

The Dark Powers granted his wish, but in a twisted fashion. He became a maledictive wereshark, able to transform into human form 3 nights of the month, during which time Alice (now known as Alison Marjory) is transformed into a Greater Sea Wolf. Sean forgets his human identity when in shark form, now thinking himself to be a shark of great intelligence. He may not assume human form voluntarily. Sean only knows of his human life when in human form.

Sean Mako, along with Alison, act as demilords of Carcharodon Isle. Sean Mako sleeps by day in the caves beneath the Old Lighthouse and by night is active. During the days of the month he is human, he is held prisoner in the Old Lighthouse by Baron Mikhail Ulyanov, who knows enough about his curse to time his capture.
